Thomas Frank clearly has the ability to build a club, and should be a great g, but will Daniel Levy give him enough freedom to achieve it, or will he strangle him?
Neil, Birmingham
Frank will almost certainly regret going to Spurs once Levy reveals his true colours yet again. Going to the worst team in London in 24/25 is hardly a bright move.
Chris, Kettering
I just do not get it. You have a manager that is a proven winner including European glory and you replace him with a mid-table manager who has won what? If this fails for Levy he has to go.

Thomas Frank is an excellent manager and a superb appointment for any Premier club, but, the problem at Spurs, as I’m sure most Spurs fans will agree, isn’t necessarily managers. Pochettino warned years ago that money was needed for a significant rebuild and what happened to him? Frank will end up as frustrated as Conte, Mourinho, Pochettino et all because the problem there can be summed up in two words. Daniel Levy.
Chris, Manchester
Now the dust has settled, I think sacking Ange was the right choice and Frank is a sensible appointment. The issue he’ll have though is actually getting the playing staff he wants and needs and getting them before the last day of the window. We’ve been linked with Eze, Mbeuno, Semenyo and Gibbs-White, but I guarantee we won’t get any of them. Levy isn’t looking for the here and now and that will always be our problem.

For many Tottenham ers, and casual observers, the one constant during a string of recent managerial failures at the club has been chairman Daniel Levy.
There is no question where their blame will fall if Thomas Frank does not prove to be a success...

An hour after the appointment of Frank was confirmed, Spurs captain Cristian Romero posted a message to his former boss Ange Postecoglou.
It included the line: "You paved the way despite the many obstacles that always existed and always will exist," which some ers have viewed as a shot at Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who chose to sack Postecoglou despite winning the Europa League.
If taking 78 points from 66 games, 22 defeats in a season, the lowest win ratio of any Spurs manager in the PL is taking us forward then can we please go backwards instead.
'Frank is perfect match for Tottenham' - Eriksenpublished at 08:20 British Summer Time 13 June

One player who has affiliations with both Tottenham and Brentford is Christian Eriksen.
The Denmark midfielder played for Spurs between 2013 and 2020 and also had a brief spell at the Bees under Thomas Frank in 2022.
With Eriksen now a free agent, he was recently asked about Frank and whether he would follow his compatriot to Spurs.
"I think he is the right coach for Tottenham,” Eriksen said.
"I think he is the perfect match for the club, and it would be great if Thomas takes on that challenge.
"His personality, his way of playing and his way of being. And the club considering where they were last season – they won a trophy of course – but they are in the process of building something up, and I am sure that Thomas is a good man to bring in."
The 33-year-old, however, added that he is yet to receive a call from Frank regarding a return to Spurs.
"No, not where we are now, so Thomas should call if something happens," he said.

Pivotal moment for both clubs. Don't either and don't give two hoots about Spurs. However, I hope that Brentford continue to thrive in the face of losing a good manager and possibly some great players. I would imagine Frank knows they will manage and possibly a plan has been in place as he was bound to have a "bigger" opportunity at some stage. Good luck to both Brentford and Frank.

Thanks for the measured message, seems a shame not to own it. Please to include a name on messages folks.
The Champions League awaits, and so does a mission to revive Spurs as a Premier League force.
What is clear is they have turned to a man whose career remains on an upwards curve.
Thomas Frank's playing career may have only taken in the Danish amateur game - he even spent time working in a kindergarten - but he progressed successfully as a coach through the Denmark national youth teams to Brondby, before ing Brentford as an assistant in 2016, then succeeding Dean Smith as head coach two years later when Smith moved to Aston Villa.
That enabled Frank to build the body of work that attracted iring glances before Spurs and Levy were finally in the position to lure him from Brentford, where he was such a beloved figure and where ers will be heartbroken, even if they had guessed this day would eventually come.

Frank has a reputation for making something out of nothing, and that is what Spurs need right now. He his also very good at manging players. He respects them and they respect him. This will certainly help in transfers and blooding new players, something Tottenham have only recently begun to realise. Frank won't have an immediate impact, but whatever happens, he deserves this chance. Best of luck to him.
Tottenham's statement in announcing the appointment of Thomas Frank noted the Dane's success at transforming Brentford into an established Premier League side:
"During his time at Brentford he [Thomas Frank] transformed the club, moving them up from the Championship to an established Premier League side, consistently and significantly outperforming expectations for an extended period of time.
"In Thomas we are appointing one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches within the game. He has a proven track record in player and squad development and we look forward to him leading the team as we prepare for the season ahead."

Hello, you opened by saying that Ange, among others were not able to take the club forward. I would argue Ange has been the most successful in taking the club forward in recent memory. The psychological impact of winning a trophy should not be underestimated. Also, we went from having very little chance of gaining CL football via the league, to being in it next year!
Frank's record at Brentfordpublished at 07:52 British Summer Time 13 June
07:52 BST 13 June
Frank first ed Brentford as an assistant in 2016, before taking over from Dean Smith as head coach in October 2018.
In 2019-20 his side reached the Championship play-off final but suffered a 2-1 defeat by Fulham.
They reached the Championship play-off again the following season and beat Swansea City to reach the Premier League, with Frank becoming the first Brentford manager in 86 years to win promotion to the top flight.
Since then, Frank has established the Bees as a competitive Premier League club, recording 13th, ninth, 16th and 10th-place finishes.
Last season Brentford's tally of 66 goals in the Premier League was the t fifth best in the division.
Of the 152 top-flight games Frank has overseen, he has won 54 and lost 60 - claiming 200 points from a possible 456.
Since it was announced that Thomas Frank was in talks with Tottenham over the vacant manager's job, we have had a flood of messages from Brentford ers wishing him well.
The powers-that-be at the Bees have responded in much the same way, releasing a statement following his appointment by Spurs to say that everyone connected with the club "would like to thank Thomas for the incredible impact he has had on the club's history".
Bees director of football Phil Giles said: "From the moment he replaced Dean Smith, he understood what we were trying to build and his wisdom, coaching ability and emotional intelligence have helped transform the club.
"But it's not just what you see on the pitch. He forged a special connection with our fans, helped develop and improve players, and was instrumental in implementing the culture that has seen Brentford go from strength to strength.
"We will never forget Thomas, but now it is time to thank him and take the next steps in our journey with a new leader who we believe can be just as successful and influential."

Tottenham have made a succession of false starts over the past six seasons following the departure in 2019 of Mauricio Pochettino, who had enjoyed five years in the hotseat.
Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou have all tried and failed to take the club forward.
The question is: can Thomas Frank succeed where others have failed?
Give us a quick thumbs up if you believe he is the right appointment, thumbs down if you don't.
And please get in touch with your thoughts on why you either believe or don't believe Frank is the right choice.
Brentford's Frank replaces Postecoglou as Spurs managerpublished at 07:34 British Summer Time 13 June
07:34 BST 13 June
Thomas Frank has been appointed by Spurs as replacement for Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked following the end of last season despite guiding the club to a first trophy in 17 years.
Spurs beat Manchester United in the final of the Europa League to earn qualification for next season's Champions League.
But it was not enough to paper over the cracks that appeared following a 17th-place finish in the Premier League.
Spurs lost 22 of their 38 matches and finished seven places and 18 points below Brentford.
Justin Cochrane will Frank at Tottenham as the Dane's assistant, despite efforts from the Bees to keep hold of the England coach.
Frank has also brought head of performance Chris Haslam and first-team analyst Joe Newton with him from Brentford, while another assistant coach, Andreas Georgson, arrives from Manchester United.

No prizes for guessing where we might start.
